She's Here! The Manhattan Mishap Novel Hits (Virtual) Shelves

Melina Maria Morry wears a tonal zebra jacket and lace gloves holding a copy of The Manhattan Mishap novel.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know that The Manhattan Mishap novel has officially hit the (virtual) shelves. She has arrived. In all of her sassy, saucy, frivolous glory. I am so proud, but I’m also extremely nervous. I mean, doesn’t everyone feel jittery when they release something they’ve worked tirelessly on into the world?

For all to see, love, judge, hate…

Hopefully most people will love it. However, I’m trying to remind myself that nothing is for everyone. Think about your favourite song or movie or novel. You may love it, but someone else might think it’s the worst thing ever created. My aunt told me today: “Don’t try to please the masses.” And she’s so right. I’m sure that some people won’t like my book. Although, I hope there’s not many.

The Manhattan Mishap Novel is Available to Buy Now!

First and foremost, I’m selling The Manhattan Mishap novel through my online bookstore. Right now, only the hardcover edition is available. Due to COVID-19 complications, there was a setback with the printers for the paperback. Long story short, they ran out of cappuccino coloured paper. There was no way I was going to switch to blindingly sugar-white pages for my paperback. Ew. It’s so… clinical.

Get your copy of The Manhattan Mishap here.

If you have your heart set on a paperback or an e-book, you can buy The Manhattan Mishap on FriesenPress. And if you want to buy elsewhere, you can search on thousands of other retailers. Literally, 40,000. Most notably, Indigo, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon. Although, isn’t it more fun and rewarding to shop from moi, a small business? Of course, it’s totally up to you. I appreciate any sale, no matter where it comes from.

Also, the reason I say “virtual” shelves is because for the time being I’ve chosen not to have my book displayed in physical stores. It was a tough call. However, I made the decision for two reasons. Number one: it was going to cost me a lot of extra money to buy “book return insurance” which is mandatory for stores to carry your book. And second, with the pandemic still going strong I thought that the majority of people are shopping online anyway.
